International Recognition for 2 Israeli TWs

- STC-Israel Announcement -

For the first time in the history of the STC Israel Technical Communication Competitions, the Award of Distinguished has been given to technical communicators at an Israeli company. Two separate entries from Kodak (formerly Creo and Scitex) earned the citations in the Chapter-level Online Communications Competition from a panel of three judges from the Canada West Chapter. This represents the high point for the Kodak/Creo/Scitex organization's time-honored tradition of producing award-winners.

The Distinguished award winners are:

1.      Sigalit Barzilai, Einat Rolnik, and Yaron Naor
Magnus 800 Component Finder

2.      Tamara Katz, Einat Rolnik, and Yaron Naor
Profile Wizard Mio 4.0 Web-based Training

As Distinguished Award winners, these entries have become Israel's first-ever entries in STC's International Competition. Please join us in congratulating the winners for their feat, and best wishes for their continued success in the Competition's global stage! These awards further validate Israel's growing reputation as a major center for producing quality technical documentation.

In addition, we also send congratulations to the following persons, who were also cited in this year's competitions:

·        Yoel Strimling (Comverse) - Excellence - Once Comverse Documentation Style Guide v2.2

·        Yoel Strimling, Dalene Grieshaber, and Raya Tayar (Comverse) - Merit - InSight 3.7.3.4 Documentation Set CD

·        Yoni Palmer and Rachel Gurevich (OND, ECI Telecom) - Merit - Publications Library, Marketing Material 06/Q2

The award certificates will be presented to the winners at an event to be announced.  Look for an announcement on our home page and events announcements section.

Kudos goes to the judging teams in both Israel and Canada West Chapter for taking much of their otherwise free time to read, evaluate, grade and write feedback about all the entries. It is quite a demanding task, but also a professionally rewarding and interesting one, and our chapter's judges will also be cited at the later event.

And a great thank you to all submitters, both winners and non-winners, because your entries make it possible for everyone involved to raise the professional level of our work output, and to enhance our community's international reputation!

Sincerely,

David Schor                                         Deborah Shapiro
